New Church

New church building
The current church building was completed at the end of 2002 and was consecrated in 2003. This was the culmination of a lengthy process started many years before.

The parish considered a number of options for the new church but a number of factors led to the selection of the current site for a newly built church. The most important factor was the generosity of the Braeckman family in donating the land for the development. The sale of the sites in Henham and at Millside provided funds for the development project, leaving the parish free from debt and makes possible the dedication of the church.

Wood carving by Stephen Foster
As well as a new church, the new site includes a parish centre and a presbytery for the parish priest.
The new church is in the style of an Essex barn and the architect is a local man, Mr Jim Boutwood. The interior of the church is modern and the liturgical layout and artwork was designed and made by the artist, Mr Stephen Foster. For more information on the new church go to the Central Themes page.
We are also grateful to Mr John Latham who arranged, amongst other things, the wonderful landscaping and gardens outside.
Our sincerest thanks go out to everyone who helped or supported the programme in any way. Your kind prayers for the future would be appreciated.
