Parish History
The current parish is the result of a merger in 2002 of the former parishes of St Therese's, Stansted and St Anthony's, Henham. Information on the new church. Information on the two old parishes is set out below:
St Anthony's Henham
St Anthony's was the first Catholic church to be built in the area in recent times. It was erected in 1933 on land donated by the De Steene family.
St Therese's at Millside, Stansted
In 1958 and additional site was purchased at Millside in Stansted. In the same year, the Mill House was bought and converted into a house-church.
Eventually these two buildings became inadequate for a growing parish community and changing needs. The parish decided to look at options for a new church.
